Streaming services are essentially a way to purchase access to popular entertainment such as movies, shows, concerts, comedy specials, and more! There is a broad range of popular streaming services available today, but it can be difficult to decide which one is right for you.

Apple TV is a small black box that is connected to your wireless network and plugged into your television using an HDMI cable.

There are different forms of the product including Apple TV (physical product), Apple TV+, and the Apple TV app. These forms of the product range in price and features, making it easier for consumers to choose the one that best meets their needs.

For example, if you would like to try Apple TV, but do not own a smart TV, then the Apple TV (physical product) is a good choice. It will add elements of a smart TV by providing access to some features without your having to purchase one.

Here are some of the differences to consider when choosing the best option for yourself.

Apple TV

  • Priced from $159
  • Able to watch original Apple movies and shows
  • Able to watch all movies and shows
  • Physical product

Apple TV+

  • Priced at $4.99 per month
  • Able to watch exclusive original Apple movies and shows
  • Not able to watch all movies and shows
  • No physical product
  • Must have access to Apple TV app

Apple TV App

  • Included on some smart TVs.
  • Able to watch original Apple movies and shows
  • Able to watch all movies and shows
  • No physical product

Basically, if you have a smart television, you probably already have access to the Apple TV app with the option of upgrading to Apple TV+ with more content options.

If you do not have a smart TV, the physical product may be the best option for you.
